SHUEISHA GAMES and developer DeskWorks Inc. have revealed a prologue trailer for Chronoscript: The Endless End during the Future Games Show, alongside confirmation that the game is targeting a Fall 2026 release on PlayStation and Steam. The trailer — the game’s first public look — debuted the character designs for the two leads, unveiled the Ancient Egypt stage, and offered a first glimpse of the hand-drawn, pen-and-ink 2D and 3D world of the game.

The premise is immediately striking: you play as Frederick G Muller, a taciturn editor who answers a summons to a secluded mountain manor from a mysterious new author — only to be bitten by a mosquito, lose consciousness, and wake up trapped inside her manuscript. The author in question is Viola S Chambers, a vampire cursed with immortality who has been writing an endless story for a thousand years and has lost sight of how to end it. To escape, Frederick must dive into each era of the manuscript, untangle the stories within, and ultimately help Viola bring her endless work to its conclusion.

The Characters

Viola S Chambers
The Vampire — Author
Cursed with immortality, she has spent a thousand years writing an endless story across countless lands and eras. Having outlived her perspective on how stories end, she has summoned an editor — and specifically Frederick’s bloodline — in the hope that he can fulfil an ancestor’s ancient promise and bring the manuscript to its close.
Frederick G Muller
The Editor — Protagonist
A precise, methodical editor with a long track record of bringing sprawling long-running works to a clean conclusion. After answering a strange summons to the mountain manor, he finds himself trapped within thousands of pages of Viola’s manuscript — forced to navigate each bewildering story while tending to the author’s millennia of accumulated anguish and loneliness.

Key Features

Chronoscript: The Endless End — What to Expect

Evolving 2D / 3D Structure The game spans both 2D manuscript pages and a 3D manor — traversal and combat mechanics evolve as you unlock dynamic ink-based movement abilities across both dimensions.
Classic 2D Action Challenge Rooted in the satisfying difficulty of classic 2D action platformers, with combat and exploration mechanics that deepen across the runtime.
The Ruined — Corrupted Enemies Souls who met gruesome deaths have been resurrected as twisted versions of their former selves. Defeating them unravels the tragic threads of their histories and advances the manuscript’s story.
A Thousand Years Across Countless Eras The manuscript spans the breadth of a thousand-year life — stages confirmed so far include Ancient Egypt alongside the manor itself, with more eras within Viola’s endless story to be revealed.
Hand-Drawn Pen and Ink Art Characters, enemies, and backdrops are all hand-drawn with pen and ink. Frame-by-frame animation gives the world an eerie, living quality that directly reflects the manuscript setting.
