The solo developer of the ‘Conrad universe’ reveals their next single-player horror sim, coming soon to Early Access.
D&A Studios, the solo developer behind the Among The Whispers paranormal investigation games, has officially revealed their next title: Daughter of Voodoo. The new game is a single-player, first-person simulation horror game that aims to blend authentic Voodoo rituals with classic ghost-hunting mechanics.
Set in the same “Conrad universe” as the developer’s previous titles, Daughter of Voodoo is launching a new cinematic teaser trailer that sets a deeply unsettling and atmospheric tone.

Unlike other ghost-hunting games, Daughter of Voodoo puts players in the role of Marie Laurette, a clairvoyant priestess. The gameplay is rooted in Voodoo practices, requiring you to craft sacred objects, such as mojo bags, perform ceremonies, and utilize your “clairvoyant sight” to pierce the veil between the living and the dead.
This supernatural toolkit will be used in conjunction with more traditional paranormal investigation equipment, such as vintage tape recorders, microphones, and cameras, to uncover the truths behind each haunting.
According to the developer, this is a “labor of love” and the third installment in their shared horror universe. The goal is to “help players authentically experience the craft while giving gameplay that feels fun to get into.”
Early Access and Community Focus
Daughter of Voodoo is “coming soon” to Steam Early Access. The developer, Kip, states that this approach involves building the game alongside the community, allowing player feedback to shape the mechanics, balance, and features.
The game is expected to be in Early Access for at least one year. The full 1.0 version is planned to include:
- Several new haunted locations
- More ghost types with unique behaviors
- Additional collectibles that expand the story
- An expanded inventory of Voodoo and paranormal items
The Early Access version will be offered at a lower price to reward early supporters, with the price likely increasing as more content is added toward the full release.
