Cook. Clean. Conquer. All as a rat.
Polden Publishing and developer toR Studio have officially revealed Restaurats — a chaotic, co-op, medieval tavern simulator where you’re not just the help, you’re a rodent. Whether solo or with up to four players, you’ll run the most unlikely restaurant in the realm, serving dishes to vampires, skeletons, orcs, and other fantasy regulars in your very own rat-run eatery.
And yes — you can throw food at the customers. It’s encouraged.
You can play the free Steam demo today and try your paw at turning an empty kitchen into a fantasy feast frenzy. Play the Demo Here and watch the new trailer to see the ridiculous co-op action in motion.
Welcome to the Tavern, Chef Rat
Restaurats is a roguelite tavern sim where each day (and dish) is different. Pick your rat, dress them up, and get to work cooking meals for a rotating cast of oddball patrons. From vampires craving rare meats to grumpy skeletons with dust allergies, every customer has quirks. Handle the food, man the bar, clean the mess, and try not to burn the place down.
Key Features:
🧄 Cook Up Chaos – Learn and perfect recipes, from hearty soups to cursed meat platters. Higher risk means higher reward.
🧛 Serve the Undead (and the Occasionally Alive) – Cater to unique patrons with wildly different needs. From picky ghosts to chatty orcs.
🧢 Customize Your Rat – Style your rodent with unlockable outfits and upgrades to stand out and improve your tavern-running prowess.
🃏 Bonus Cards – At the end of each workday, draw new abilities, buffs, or wacky modifiers to keep the experience fresh and unpredictable.
🏗️ Build Your Dream Tavern – Use blueprints to unlock and expand your tavern. Add new stations, decorations, and seating to attract more customers — and headaches.
🥖 Fight Back With Baguettes – Need to escort an unruly guest out? Bread makes an excellent weapon.
Opinion from TheBigBois Team
At TheBigBois, we’re suckers for ridiculous co-op games, and Restaurats is looking like the kind of title that turns a casual Tuesday night into a laugh-filled disaster. It’s Overcooked if everyone was a rat with attitude. Between the chaotic recipe juggling, food tossing, and roguelike modifiers, there’s always something to go wrong — and we can’t wait to try it. The Steam demo already has us arguing over who’s allowed near the fryer.
