SILENT HILL: Townfall

Game: SILENT HILL: Townfall Developer: Screen Burn Interactive (Glasgow) Publisher: KONAMI / Annapurna Interactive Genre: First-Person Horror Release Date: September 24, 2026 Platforms: PlayStation 5 · Steam · Epic Games Store Pre-Orders: Open Now Revealed At: PlayStation State of Play

KONAMI has announced that SILENT HILL: Townfall will release on September 24, 2026, with pre-orders open now across PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. The release date was revealed during today’s PlayStation State of Play broadcast alongside a new trailer offering the clearest look yet at the game’s tone, environments, and mechanics.

Developed by Scottish studio Screen Burn Interactive — formerly No Code, the BAFTA-winning team behind Stories Untold and Observation — and co-published by Annapurna Interactive and KONAMI, Townfall is a first-person horror experience set on the desolate island of St. Amelia. Players step into the shoes of Simon Ordell, called back to a fog-drenched town to “put things right,” navigating residential streets off a shrouded marina while fragments of a buried past begin surfacing around him.

The CRTV — A Haunted Pocket Television

The trailer’s standout detail is the CRTV — a pocket CRT television that Simon carries throughout the game and uses to discover fragments of the past rising to the surface. It’s a device clearly rooted in the kind of lo-fi analogue horror vocabulary that Screen Burn explored in Stories Untold, transplanted into Silent Hill’s psychological fog and given a new mechanical role. Pre-order bonuses for both editions are tied directly to cosmetic CRTV styles, suggesting the device is central enough to the experience to justify personalising it.

The trailer also confirms the shape of the gameplay: evasion is tense rather than action-focused, combat is described as frenetic when it occurs, and narrative-driven puzzles are a primary mechanic for uncovering what Townfall has buried. This is consistent with Screen Burn’s prior work — atmospheric, story-forward design where the horror is in the architecture and the implications rather than the jump scare.

About the Developer — Screen Burn Interactive

Screen Burn Interactive (formerly No Code) is an independent studio based in Glasgow, Scotland. Founded in 2015, they are the team behind Stories Untold (2017) — a lo-fi anthology horror experience that drew significant critical praise — and Observation (2019), a BAFTA-winning narrative horror set aboard a space station. Their body of work makes them one of the most fitting studios imaginable for a Silent Hill project: atmospheric, oppressive, focused on psychological dread, and deeply interested in the way technology mediates horror.
