Dust Games is about to make your living room a warzone. Grab up to five friends, tape a knife to your robotic vacuum, and prepare for the most chaotic party game of the spring.
For years, humanity has trusted robotic vacuums to quietly clean our floors, navigate around our furniture, and occasionally get stuck on a rogue phone charger. But what happens when they abandon their cleaning duties and choose violence?
Barcelona-based independent studio Dust Games has the answer. Today, the developer announced that ROOMBATTLE, an absurd six-player multiplayer party-battler, will officially launch on PC (Steam) and Linux on March 25, 2026.
If you are looking for a new way to ruin friendships or simply cause as much destruction as possible, this vacuum-fueled arena brawler promises to be the breakout party game of the season. And the best part? You don’t even have to wait until March to try it. A robust free demo is available right now on Steam.
The Premise: Survival of the Cleanest
At its core, ROOMBATTLE is built on a very simple premise: be the last vacuum cleaner standing.
However, the execution is anything but simple. The game abandons the mundane task of sweeping up dust bunnies and thrusts players into multiple interactive arenas packed with outrageous weapons, crazy physics, and nonstop action. Up to six players—supported in both online and local multiplayer—will face off in a series of hilarious minigames and battle maps.
The full release boasts an impressive lineup of content designed to keep the chaos fresh:
- 12+ Battle Maps: Ranging from mundane domestic settings to wildly inappropriate combat zones.
- 12+ Minigames: Injecting variety into the standard brawling format.
- 15+ Power-Ups and Mystery Skills: Ensuring that the tide of battle can turn in a fraction of a second.
Furthermore, every game session is fully customizable. Hosts can adjust match lengths, fill empty slots with AI bots, choose specific game modes, or activate modifiers, such as the unpredictable “Glitch mode.”
No Controller? No Problem: The Jackbox Approach
One of the biggest hurdles for local couch multiplayer games is hardware. Getting six friends into a room is hard enough; scrounging up six working controllers is nearly impossible. Dust Games has engineered a brilliant workaround.
ROOMBATTLE is designed with “Easy to play” accessibility at its heart. The control scheme is incredibly streamlined, built around just a joystick and two buttons. This means anyone can jump in immediately, regardless of their gaming experience.
More importantly, the game supports multiple input methods. Players can use a standard gamepad, a keyboard, or—in a move popularized by the Jackbox Party Pack series—turn their mobile phone into a gamepad. This frictionless entry ensures that anyone at the party can join the mayhem by simply pulling their smartphone out of their pocket.
Pimp My Vacuum: Progression and Customization
Why fight as a standard grey disc when you can fight as a neon-pink disc with googly eyes and a top hat?
Every match in ROOMBATTLE feeds into a full progression system. As players sweep the competition, they will earn rewards and unlockables. These include new gameplay features and a massive wardrobe of cosmetic items.
The developers tout that there are almost 200,000 combinations of hats, eyes, colors, and accessories available. This allows every player to let their vacuum cleaner reflect their unique personality, ensuring that no two combatants need to look alike as they bash into each other at top speed.
