Launching into Early Access on September 18th, 2025, Hidden IO’s debut title is a VR action roguelike unlike anything we’ve seen before. In ZIX, you don’t just play through levels—you create them. Before each run, players mix blessings from three strange worlds inside the Cauldron, fusing them into bizarre, rule-breaking realities. One world might spawn enemies that turn into turrets when killed. Another might double healing but remove revives. Or maybe you’ll be stalked by a massive beast that kills anything it touches.
Every ritual reshapes the run, leading to millions of potential permutations. No two journeys are the same.
Combat as Expression
At the heart of ZIX is First Instinct, a completely custom-built VR movement and combat system. There are no menus or button mashing—only two triggers and your own gestures. Leap, wall-run, block, and hurl weapons in a seamless flow, chaining together movements like a stunt performer in your own action movie.
Weapons aren’t just tools—they’re extensions of rhythm and timing. From swords that can deflect projectiles to spikes that detonate with weight, every choice pushes you deeper into ZIX’s chaotic dance.
