The long-awaited Hogwarts Legacy Summer update is here, bringing a slew of new features and content to enrich your wizarding experience. Available now for free on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, this update introduces the Haunted Hogsmeade Quest, Photo Mode, Talent Tree Reset, and new cosmetics.
The Haunting of Hogsmeade
Ever dreamed of owning a shop in the wizarding world? Now you can. The Summer Update unlocks a previously inaccessible storefront in Hogsmeade. Players will encounter Penny the house elf sweeping outside this shop after the in-game winter season begins. This marks the start of a thrilling new quest filled with mystery and spooky moments. Brave the haunted depths of Madam Mason’s shop to earn rewards like the shop itself and a stylish shopkeeper’s outfit. Beware of the tricks and traps hidden beneath the trapdoor—things are not as they seem.
Capture the Magic with Photo Mode
Photo Mode is finally here, responding to one of the most popular requests from Hogwarts Legacy fans. This feature allows you to capture the magical world in stunning detail. Simply pause the game and press the X button to access a variety of camera tools, filters, frames, and effects. Whether you’re capturing an intense duel, a mischievous moment with Peeves, or a serene sunset over the Black Lake, Photo Mode offers extensive options to create the perfect shot. Hide NPCs, change your avatar’s pose, adjust the time of day and season, and apply visual filters to immortalize your adventures.
Reset Your Talents
Another highly requested feature is the ability to reset talent points, enabling you to experiment with different builds and playstyles. For 200 gold per talent point, you can now reset your talents either individually or altogether. This feature is accessible through the Talents section of the Field Guide, allowing you to refine your character’s abilities to better suit your journey in the wizarding world.
Fresh Cosmetics
The update also brings new cosmetics, including the Azkaban Coat and Azkaban Prisoner’s Outfit, giving your character a dark, edgy look. Fans will also be thrilled to finally get their hands on The Glasses That Lived, resembling those of The Boy Who Lived. Additional goodies include the Onyx Hippogriff mount, the Felix Felicis Potion Recipe, and the new Lavender Borealis broom with a dark apparition trail effect. Plus, several bug fixes and optimizations are included in this update.
What Gamers Are Still Waiting For
While this free update is a welcome addition a year after the game’s release, fans are still eagerly awaiting more substantial content. Many are hoping for a story DLC that explores other iconic Harry Potter locations such as Azkaban and the Ministry of Magic. Additionally, an actual Quidditch side game remains high on the wish list for many players.
