Primal Game Studio and publisher Knights Peak Interactive have officially dropped Update 1.6 for Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree—and it’s a game-changer. The patch adds a long-awaited New Game+ mode, significantly expands combat and progression flexibility, and delivers a sweep of balance and quality-of-life improvements.
Available now on Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG.com, PlayStation®5, and Xbox Series X|S, this update is also perfectly timed with the Steam Summer Sale, offering a 25% discount for anyone ready to dive into the nightmarish beauty of Faelduum.
⚔️ A Deadlier Journey Begins: New Game+ Unleashed
The headline feature, New Game+, allows players to restart the story with all their gear, skills, and talents intact—while ramping up the difficulty with empowered enemies and new loot. Three new weapons make their debut in NG+:
- Aurora – A radiant blade that burns with spectral fire
- Crimson Slicer – Fast, feral, and made for bleeding foes dry
- Reignbreaker – A colossal weapon of wrath for those who rule through power
You can now begin at NG+0 fully equipped, opening doors to creative build experimentation and long-term replayability.

Update 1.6 doesn’t just add new content—it reshapes how you play. Here are some of the key improvements:
- Respec Talents & Nodes: Visit the Witches’ Altar to refund and rearrange your skills and character builds at will.
- Gliding Overhaul: The floaty gliding mechanic has been refined for smoother, more responsive traversal.
- Boss Balance Pass: Battles with enemies like Sleepwalker and the final boss have been tuned for more clarity and fairness.
- Ability Updates: Shadowstep (Nightshade) and Adrenaline (Vanguard) now activate more fluidly. Hitbox tweaks and animation clarity boost combat readability across the board.

While digital storefronts have the update live now, Mandragora is also set for a physical release this September. Both Standard and Collector’s Editions are planned, with the Collector’s version including an artbook, soundtrack CD, and more.
Later this year, Nintendo Switch players will also be able to experience the haunting world of Whispers of the Witch Tree, with a port in active development and set to launch before the end of 2025.
