Tuxedo Labs just delivered the largest free update in the game’s history, bringing full co-op campaign support, competitive modes, and endless multiplayer mods to the ultimate voxel-destruction simulator.
Grab your sledgehammers, blowtorches, and high-explosives—it is officially time to tear this thing down together.
Today, Sweden-based developer Tuxedo Labs released the long-awaited Online Multiplayer Update for their award-winning heist game, Teardown, on PC via Steam. Billed as the absolute largest free update since the game’s launch, this massive patch finally gives players the power to completely level the game’s beautifully rendered, fully destructible voxel environments with their friends.
Whether you want to perfectly coordinate a high-stakes heist or simply blow up a mansion with a dozen rocket launchers, here is everything included in today’s chaotic multiplayer drop.
Heisting with the Squad: Co-op and Sandbox
One of the community’s most highly requested features since day one has been the ability to play with friends. This update delivers that in spades, allowing up to 12 players to share the same voxel-simulated world and realistic physics engine simultaneously.
The update introduces two primary ways to play cooperatively:
- Co-op Campaign: You no longer have to tackle the game’s intricately timed heists alone. Players can now team up to play through the base game’s entire 40-mission campaign in co-op. Coordinating multiple players to position getaway vehicles, blow simultaneous holes in walls, and grab objectives creates incredible, emergent gameplay possibilities.
- Sandbox Mode: If you just want to watch the world burn, Sandbox Mode provides your lobby with unlimited resources to get as creative (or as violently destructive) as possible.
Competitive Chaos and New Maps
If you would rather point your heavy machinery at your friends instead of the environment, the update brings a robust suite of classic competitive multiplayer modes to the table. You can battle it out in Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Capture the Flag, utilizing both the game’s original built-in maps and the endless ocean of mod-developed arenas.
To celebrate the launch, Tuxedo Labs has also introduced two brand-new official arenas explicitly designed for multiplayer chaos:
- Splitfield Estate: A sprawling new map featuring the built-in game mode “Treasure Thieves.”
- Cratertown: A mirrored arena meticulously designed to balance team-based game modes.
Endless Modding Potential
Teardown has always possessed one of the most vibrant modding communities on Steam, and this update supercharges that ecosystem. The developers have overhauled the Teardown API with new multiplayer functionality, making it easier than ever to build cooperative and competitive game modes, maps, and tools.
Right out of the gate, players can explore an ever-growing list of multiplayer community mods via the in-game library. Hundreds of multiplayer mods are available to play right now, including absurd, physics-driven takes on The Floor Is Lava, Battle Royale, Vehicle Sumo, and Prop Hunt.

What’s Next for Teardown? Consoles and Racing
While PC players get to enjoy the destruction today, console players won’t be left in the dust for long. Tuxedo Labs confirmed that the multiplayer update is expected to arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S later this year.
Furthermore, the studio teased that they are currently developing a new “high-octane multiplayer racing experience” for the game. Combined with the upcoming fourth major DLC slated for later this year, Teardown is poised to have an absolutely massive 2026.
