Today, independent publisher Radical Theory (known for Rooftops & Alleys: The Parkour Game) and Spanish developer The Breach Studios officially unveiled Westlanders, an ambitious new survival game set in a gritty, 19th-century-inspired Wild West.
Scheduled to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, Westlanders combines open-world survival mechanics with base-building, resource management, and cooperative multiplayer.
Survive, Build, and Conquer
In Westlanders, players are thrust into a hostile and dynamic open world teeming with riches and dangers. The core of the gameplay revolves around your Wagon—a customizable mobile base that serves as your home on the range. From this rolling fortress, you can explore diverse biomes, fight off bandits and wild beasts, and gather resources.
But survival is just the beginning. The game features a deep building system that allows players to construct sprawling settlements, hire specialized workers, and automate production lines with factory-like precision. You can connect your outposts with roads to create a vast trade network, evolving from a lone survivor into a frontier tycoon.
A Community-Driven Roadmap
To ensure the game meets its ambitious vision, the studios have outlined a three-phase launch strategy:
- Kickstarter Campaign (Early 2026): A crowdfunding initiative designed to build a dedicated community and gather initial feedback.
- Early Access: A months-long development period where early adopters can play the game and shape its features alongside the developers.
- Complete Release (v1.0): The official global launch on PC and consoles.
“We want to create a game that evolves thanks to those who play it,” said Ferran Punti, CEO of The Breach Studios. “Kickstarter and early access will allow us to work hand in hand with motivated, invested, and passionate players.”
