Aerosoft, Binary Impact, and Alchemical Works have announced that Forensics: Crime Scene Detective launches on July 13, 2026 for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S — with a PS5 physical edition also available. A demo went live today on Steam as part of Steam Next Fest. Developed in close collaboration with Germany’s State Criminal Police Office Rhineland-Palatinate (LKA RLP), the game challenges players to think methodically as a forensic specialist: investigating crime scenes, collecting evidence, and then returning to the lab to analyse DNA, reconstruct bullet trajectories, decrypt digital devices, and build conclusions from facts.
The LKA RLP collaboration is the detail that sets this apart from the genre’s typical fare. Cases are based on real-world scenarios and professional forensic methodologies rather than scripted fictional outcomes, and the tools — DNA swabs, fingerprint powder, ballistic tracking rods, digital forensic software — are modelled on authentic equipment. The game makes a pointed distinction worth noting: not every bloody crime scene is a murder, and not everything that looks obvious is the truth. Your conclusions determine whether a suspect is incriminated, exonerated, or the case remains unresolved.
