After over a decade of development and a full year in Early Access, Galactic Glitch 1.0 has officially launched in version 1.0 — and the result is a chaotic, satisfying, and physics-fueled twin-stick roguelike shooter that’s brimming with personality and depth.
Developed by Berlin-based indie studio Crunchy Leaf Games, Galactic Glitch combines roguelike exploration, bullet-hell combat, and unique physics-based gameplay to deliver one of the most creative takes on the genre in years.

⚡ What’s New in Version 1.0
The 1.0 update is massive. If you’ve been following development or diving in during Early Access, you’ll find a ton of new content and systems that push the game’s variety and challenge further:
- 🦠 Quarantine Zone: A brutal new mid-game biome full of infested threats.
- 🧠 Cybervoid: A mind-bending endgame arena with dynamic challenges.
- 👾 20+ New Enemies: Each with their own mechanics.
- 🛠️ 40+ New Powers: Over 90 in total, creating endless build potential.
- 💥 Two Final Bosses and six new level bosses.
- 🚀 Prototype Ships: Find and unlock new starting ships mid-run.
- 🌌 Overview Map: Makes navigation across the game’s glitched universe more intuitive.
- 💣 Glitch Bombs: A new mechanic for secret-hunting and strategy.
- 🎲 Glitch Tokens: Let you shape your builds with more control.
🕹️ Gameplay That Feels Fresh Every Run
Where Galactic Glitch really shines is in its gravity-gun combat. You don’t just shoot. You manipulate. Rip enemies apart, hurl space debris, deflect missiles — the game makes physics your playground. With a wide selection of weapons, powers, and unlockable ship types, every run can feel wildly different.
If you’ve ever wished Nova Drift had a baby with Dead Cells, this is that energy — tight combat, adaptive builds, and fast decisions layered with strategic progression and new content every time you boot it up.

🎮 Our Impressions
Our team got early access to the 1.0 update and had a blast. There’s a ton to do, from unlocking wild new builds to trying out Prototype ships mid-run. While the game runs “okay” on the Steam Deck, it’s not fully optimized yet — some UI text overlays can be clunky and may need tweaking in the system settings to be legible. That said, the gameplay itself is still addictive and engaging on the go.
💬 From the Devs
“Working with our community through Early Access shaped so much of what Galactic Glitch became,” said Max Dohme, Lead Developer at Crunchy Leaf Games. “The 1.0 release is for everyone who helped make this game better.”
Notably, a portion of the game’s launch profits will go toward humanitarian relief in Ukraine — a powerful gesture, as several members of the team have continued development amid war and relocation.
Galactic Glitch is finally here in full — and if you’re into strategic twin-stick chaos, physics-powered combat, and experimenting with power builds in a vibrant glitched-out universe, this game should be high on your radar. Expect challenge. Expect surprises. And expect to get hooked.
