Undercoders and Fireshine Games have assembled a dream team of composers—including legends behind Persona, Jet Set Radio, and Sonic Mania—for their upcoming train-flipping platformer.
If you are going to kickflip a multi-ton locomotive over a post-apocalyptic chasm, you need an absolutely flawless soundtrack to back you up. Today, developer Undercoders (Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara) and publisher Fireshine Games (Core Keeper) proved they understand the assignment perfectly.
The studios have released a new musical trailer for Denshattack!, their upcoming trick-based platformer that blends high-speed train conducting with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater-style combos. Dropping this Spring on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, the game boasts what might be the most impressive original soundtrack lineup of 2026.
An Unbelievable Musical Roster
The world of Denshattack! is steeped in Y2K nostalgia, breakbeats, and rebellious arcade energy. To capture this specific vibe, the main composer, Tee Lopes (Sonic Mania, TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge), is joined by an absolute powerhouse lineup of guest composers and performers.
The roster bridges the gap between true video game music legends and standout mainstream artists, resulting in a vibrant, cross-generational album.
Guest Composers Include:
- Shoji Meguro (Persona series, Metaphor: ReFantazio)
- Richard Jacques (Jet Set Radio series, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy)
- 2 Mello (Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, Celeste B-sides)
- Ryo Nagamatsu (Splatoon series, Mario Kart series, The Legend of Zelda series)
- Kohta Takahashi (Ridge Racer, Tekken 5)
- Harumi Fujita “OkanP” (Mega Man 3, Streets of Rage 4)
- Andrew One (GI Joe: Wrath of Cobra)
- Sean Bialo (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind)
- The Noble Demon (Vampire Survivors: Ode to Castlevania)
- Toni Leys (Super Farming Boy)
Featured Performers: If the composer list wasn’t enough, the vocal performances feature icons like Takenobu Mitsuyoshi (Daytona USA), Lotus Juice (Persona, Soul Eater), and Alice Peralta (Splatoon), alongside artists like MIYACHI, milkyPRISM, JUNKY58%, THE DO DO DO’s, and Yunosuke.
The resulting soundtrack promises electrifying breakbeats, arcade-infused Y2K hip-hop, punchy punk rock, and funk-driven grooves that will fuel players as they grind across the wasteland.
Dystopian Rail-Hopping
Beyond the music, Denshattack! offers a unique, high-stakes take on the action-platformer genre. Set in a derelict Japan following a massive climate catastrophe, the world is heavily divided. The ultra-rich live in untouchable, air-purifying domed cities, connected only by a hypersonic vacuum-tube transport network (VACTRAIN) controlled by the megacorporation Miraido.
Meanwhile, the rest of humanity is left to survive in the uncharted wastelands. A rebellious underground movement known as “Denshattack” has reclaimed the broken-down sections of the abandoned legacy railroad tracks. Here, colorful gangs vie for control in extreme territory duels.
Players will need to master fast, fluid, and deep gameplay across 50+ levels. The game challenges you to drift trains on walls, clear massive chasms, build insane trick multipliers, and push the limits of your ride during off-the-rails boss fights.
Just like classic extreme sports games, crashing or driving too slowly will wipe out your combo. You will need to get into a true flow state to clear the game’s extraordinary challenges, unlock all-new levels around Japan, and earn upgrades to become the ultimate train-tricking champion.
