Puzzle Parasite: This Shocking New Indie Game is a Must-Play

Puzzle Parasite

Puzzle Parasite

The debut title from industry veterans at Wrenfall pays homage to classics like Portal and The Talos Principle.

Newly established Swedish studio Wrenfall has officially released its debut game, Puzzle Parasite, available now on Steam. Created by a team of veteran developers hailing from studios like Playdead, Ubisoft, and IO Interactive, this first-person sci-fi adventure aims to bring puzzle games back to their logic-driven roots.

Inspired by genre giants such as Portal and Antichamber, Puzzle Parasite transports players to a mysterious alien world filled with enigmatic structures. Armed with telekinetic powers and a trusty cricket bat, players must manipulate energy cores, power alien technology, and navigate hazardous environments filled with light bridges and lasers.

Co-op and Solo Adventures

The game features a complete single-player campaign designed to be played at your own pace, with no filler or repetition. However, Wrenfall also includes a dedicated two-player co-op mode. This separate co-op campaign introduces unique gameplay elements, such as jump pads, that challenge players to coordinate their logic and physics-based problem-solving skills.

“Puzzle Parasite was built to be played at your own pace, a space where logic guides the player,” said Gustav Bouvin, co-founder of Wrenfall. “Internally, we often say, ‘when everyone goes zig, we go zag,’ and that mindset really shaped the game. Instead of chasing trends, we focused on making something thoughtful, strange, and deeply satisfying to solve.”

Availability

Puzzle Parasite is available now on Steam for $14.99, with a 15% launch discount available for the first two weeks.
