2K has officially announced the cover athletes for NBA 2K27, the latest entry in the basketball franchise developed by Visual Concepts. Victor Wembanyama fronts the Standard Edition, Caitlin Clark headlines the Deluxe Edition, and Chicago Bulls legend Derrick Rose is celebrated on the limited-time Ultra Edition.
It’s a lineup with a genuinely neat piece of symmetry: all three are former No. 1 overall draft picks and Rookie of the Year winners, spanning three different eras of the sport.
The Cover Lineup
Two-time NBA All-Star and the league’s first-ever unanimous Defensive Player of the Year. He’s also the first Spurs player ever to grace an NBA 2K cover.
The first WNBA player featured on her own global NBA 2K premium cover. 2024 Kia WNBA Rookie of the Year, three-time WNBA All-Star, and the first Fever player on a 2K cover.
Three-time NBA All-Star and the youngest MVP in NBA history. This is Rose’s second NBA 2K cover, following his appearance on NBA 2K13.
Launch and Early Access
NBA 2K27 arrives on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2 on September 4. Deluxe and Ultra Edition owners on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC get in a week early, from August 28.
Editions and What’s Included
The Standard Edition ($69.99) is the base game across all four platforms, including Switch 2.
The Deluxe Edition ($99.99) — available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC — adds 100,000 VC, a stack of MyCAREER content including skill and Gatorade boosts plus Wembanyama and Clark jerseys, MyTEAM content including a full ’27 Series 1 team selection and five Series 1 packs, and 2XP coins for both modes. It also includes the August 28 Early Access.
The Ultra Edition ($149.99), limited in availability through September 6, includes everything in Deluxe plus an additional 35,000 VC, a Season 1 Pro Pass, the Summer Season Pass Pro Pass Bundle covering Seasons 7–9 in Summer 2027, the Roses Oversize Hoodie for MyCAREER, and premium MyTEAM player cards — including a guaranteed 98 OVR card in December 2026 and a guaranteed Invincible card in May 2027. NBA 2K26 players who pre-order the Ultra Edition on the same platform can get a 10% loyalty discount through September 3.
The Announcements Roadmap
2K has laid out an announcements roadmap for the run-up to launch, with further reveals scheduled ahead of the September 4 release. Pre-orders are live now on the official NBA 2K27 website.
