Decades ago, a mysterious catastrophic event dried up the Atlantic Ocean, leaving behind a hostile seabed crawling with oversized bugs, reanimated ancient weapons and mutated creatures. Welcome aboard, Railrunner. Your job, for the Ocean Traffic Collaboration, is to escort precious cargo across that wasteland by train, holding off endless waves of enemies at every station with a crew of hired mercenaries. If the shipment arrives intact, it’s a win, whether you survive or not.
How a Shift Works
Deploy and position your limited units against relentless waves. Think chess, but faster and more explosive.
Merge units on the fly for over 1,500 combinations across more than 30 unit types.
Once the train departs, your crew fights monster hordes in on-rail autobattles between stations.
After each successful station, pick perks and boosts that combine with your crew into new builds.
The big idea is the split between planning and execution. At each station you fight compact turn-based battles built around positioning, unit buildcraft and threat prioritisation. Then the train leaves, and your build is put to the test in an autobattler journey, and every merge and synergy choice carries forward. You can create ridiculously powerful new units or niche specialists. Just try not to blow yourself up.
“Australia Did It: End-of-the-World Railway Defense Business brings together so many things I love: strategy, tower defense, merging, and lots of explosions,” said game director Rami Ismail. “It was a really complicated game to create, but we had a lot of fun making it, theorizing builds and merges, playtesting the most over-the-top unit merges (and the worst ones, too), and just generally messing around with it. I am excited for people to mess around and find out, too!”
