Croak is a fast-paced, beautifully hand-drawn 2D precision platformer from Montréal indie studio WoodRunner Games, whose team includes artists who previously worked on Cuphead and Rick and Morty. The new trailer offers a fresh look at what the Prince gets up to, and yes, that includes a boss fight against a beaver pulling off sick tricks on a BMX bike.
The Prince’s Toolkit
Latch onto walls, objects and even the critters of the kingdom to propel yourself towards them and bounce off.
Extend a bounce into a pinball-bounce to cross large gaps and climb up walls.
Each world has its own traversal trick, like freezing into a frogcicle to glide over spikes.
Every world has its own boss, including that BMX-riding beaver.
The tongue techniques are easy to learn, but mastering them, WoodRunner warns, is sure to make you croak. The good news: deaths are quick and forgiving, so you’re straight back into the action.
