Bring the war home to the businessmen who started it
Team Anchor: an insurgent crew operating behind enemy lines, on a world that corporate power has already finished carving up.
Brigador Killers returns to Mar Nosso, and to the tactical destruction and overwhelming firepower that made Brigador: Up-Armored Edition a genuine cult classic. What’s changed is your position in it.
You’re a member of Team Anchor, an insurgent crew working behind enemy lines to disrupt entrenched corporate power — and you start the job on your own two feet.
On Foot Changes the Whole Power Fantasy
🚶 You Don’t Start in the Machine Any More
This is the structural change, and it reframes the entire series. Brigador was about piloting heavy machinery through a city you were free to level — you began powerful and stayed powerful.
Brigador Killers puts you on the ground first. You fight on foot, then commandeer and salvage vehicles as missions escalate. Which means you no longer start with the firepower — you have to go and take it.
That’s the insurgency framing made mechanical. An occupying force owns the hardware; you don’t, until you’ve stolen some. Making the player earn their way into the cockpit is a far more interesting arc than handing them the keys.
The escalation goes both directions, too. Missions can start quiet and end with the streets of Mar Nosso descending into mechanical destruction — and a more flexible mission structure means how you get there is more open than the original allowed.
🔫 Fight on Foot
An array of weaponry usable at street level, before you get anywhere near a vehicle.
🚚 Steal and Salvage
Commandeer heavily armed vehicles and strip what you can’t drive away.
🧰 Build an Arsenal
Assemble a private armoury from what you buy, steal and pull off the wreckage.
🏚️ Develop a Base
A home operation to expand between missions, feeding back into what you can field.
They Hired Their Own Community
⭐ The Line Most Coverage Will Skip
Buried in the founders’ launch statement is something genuinely unusual. Describing the decade of work behind Brigador Killers, the Monahan Brothers note the game was built “with a team hired almost exclusively out of our own world-class community.”
Studios hire from the industry. Stellar Jockeys hired from the people who loved the first game — which says a great deal about the kind of following Brigador built, and about a studio willing to treat its own players as a talent pool rather than an audience.
This is the most ambitious and elaborate game we’ve ever made, taking us the better part of a decade. With a team hired almost exclusively out of our own world-class community, we’re finally able to bring it to life. We hope players have as much fun diving into it as we have had losing our minds making it.
— The Monahan Brothers, Co-Founders, Stellar Jockeys
“Losing our minds making it” is doing some honest work in that sentence. Nearly ten years on a follow-up to a cult hit is a long time to sit with a project, and the scope on display — on-foot combat, vehicle warfare, arsenal building, base development — explains where a decade went.
Makeup and Vanity Set Are Back
🎧 The Returning Composer Is a Genuine Selling PointMakeup and Vanity Set return to score Brigador Killers, and for anyone who played the original that alone justifies attention — the first game’s soundtrack was one of its most praised elements.
Stellar Jockeys describe the new score as shaped by the series’ heavy industrial atmosphere and grimy science-fiction violence, expanding into aggressive intensity, sonic violence and icy cold digital synthesis. Which is exactly the register the original operated in, scaled up to match the game around it.
