⚠️ Content Note
BrokenLore: DON’T LIE deals directly and deliberately with severe social withdrawal, childhood abandonment, trauma, addiction, medication and deteriorating mental health. Serafini Productions describe the themes as isolation, trauma, addiction and distorted perception, and the story involves rejection, humiliation and hallucination.
This isn’t incidental horror dressing — it’s the substance of the game. Worth knowing before you buy, and worth considering carefully if any of that sits close to home.
🕯️ BrokenLore: DON’T LIE is out now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, priced from $15.99 / £12.99 / €15.99. There’s a 10% launch discount for a limited time. It’s the latest chapter in Serafini Productions’ interconnected BrokenLore universe, and it runs parallel to the events of BrokenLore: DON’T WATCH.
⚖️ The Horror Is Watching You Back
The mechanic that distinguishes DON’T LIE from most first-person horror is simple and quietly nasty: an unseen presence responds to the player’s behaviour.
Not to triggers you cross or doors you open — to how you act. In a game titled DON’T LIE, built around a protagonist whose relationship with truth has collapsed, that’s a design choice with real thematic weight rather than a jump-scare delivery system.
Around it sits a structure of exploration and investigation — searching liminal spaces for clues, objects and fragments of memory — with the environments themselves distorting according to memory, fear and perception as Junko’s grip loosens.
Serafini describe it as built to unsettle rather than to shock, which is the harder thing to pull off and the more interesting thing to attempt.
Not everything you see is real
You’ve met Junko before, if you played DON’T WATCH. You met her through a screen. This time you’re inside her apartment, and inside her head.
BrokenLore: DON’T LIE is out now from Serafini Productions and publisher Wired Productions, on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It’s a first-person psychological horror game following Junko, a young woman living in near-total isolation whose sense of reality is coming apart.
Abandoned by her mother and raised by a father who was physically present but emotionally absent, Junko learned to retreat rather than connect. After her rare attempts at relationships ended in rejection and humiliation, she withdrew completely. As lies, medication and buried memories distort the world around her, familiar spaces become manifestations of fear and emotion.
It Runs Alongside DON’T WATCH
🔗 A Second Perspective on a Story You May Already Know
DON’T LIE tells a complete, self-contained story — you don’t need to have played anything else to start here.
But it also reveals another perspective on the events of BrokenLore: DON’T WATCH, the chapter that began with Shinji. Players encountered Junko in that game digitally — at a remove, through a screen. Here, you’re placed directly inside her experience.
That’s a genuinely smart structural idea for an anthology horror series. Rather than a sequel that advances a timeline, it’s the same events from the inside of a different head — which, in a series about unreliable perception, is doing thematic work as well as narrative work.
Serafini has been explicit that this connection is what makes the launch personal: DON’T LIE continues a story that started with Shinji.

Wired Has Form Here
📚 A Publisher That Takes This Subject Matter Seriously
Context that matters for a game like this. Wired Productions has spent years publishing horror that engages with mental illness and trauma as subject rather than spectacle — most notably The Town of Light and Martha Is Dead, both of which handled genuinely difficult material with care, and both of which took criticism from people who’d rather horror stayed comfortable.
That track record doesn’t guarantee anything about DON’T LIE. But it does mean this is a publisher with experience of the difference between using mental illness as a monster and treating it as an experience — and Serafini’s stated aim is impactful, thought-provoking stories that resonate emotionally rather than simply frighten.
Whether it lands is a question for a review. But it’s the right lineage for the attempt.
💬 From the Developer
Sebastiano Serafini, creator of Serafini Productions, on the launch:
“I’m feeling a mix of excitement and nerves now that the game is finally about to launch. We’ve been working on it for a long time, so reaching this point and finally being able to share it with players feels very special.”
“There is also something quite personal about this launch for us because DON’T LIE is connected to DON’T WATCH and continues a story that started with Shinji. The story explores themes like isolation, trauma, addiction, and distorted perception, and there are many environments and sequences that we put a lot of care into making meaningful and visually memorable.”
