The underground never stops shifting, and neither does White Knuckle.
Dark Machine Games and DreadXP have just unveiled their content roadmap for the hit first-person roguelite speed-climbing game, and the climb is far from over. After a well-received Early Access launch and a fresh “Save & Continue” update added just days ago, players now know what to expect in the coming months.

Roadmap Highlights: What’s Next for White Knuckle?
1. Save & Continue – Released Now
One of the most requested features is finally here. Players can now pause their death-defying climb and return to it later without starting from scratch—a welcome addition for a game known for its intense, high-stakes pace.
2. The Challenge Update – Coming June/July 2025
Set to arrive in early summer, this update brings:
- New Challenge Maps to push your reflexes even further
- The mysterious new Training Sector
- Additional Level Expansions
- One “[REDACTED]” feature—something secretive is on the way
3. The Abyss Update – Q3 2025
The fall expansion digs deeper with:
- An all-new Region
- More Level Expansions
- Dangerous new Artifact Items
- Brand-new Perks
- And fresh Denizens—yes, more terrifying creatures
4. Beyond the Abyss – Future Content
The team at Dark Machine isn’t stopping with The Abyss. Long-term updates promise:
- Entirely New Regions & Sub-Regions
- Expanded Item and Perk Pools
- New Denizens, Modes, and Seasonal Events
- Difficulty Mutators for added replayability
- Upgraded Facility Systems
- And “Much, Much More”
The Road So Far
If you’re unfamiliar, White Knuckle is a brutal, momentum-driven climbing roguelite. Players ascend through the guts of SUB-STRUCTURE 17—an oppressive, decaying megastructure—using precision platforming and a growing set of tools, perks, and survival instincts.
It’s more than just a climb. Between the encumbrance mechanics, monster-infested regions like Silos, Pipeworks, and Habitation, and the constantly shifting dangers, every run feels unique. And deadly.
Our team came to the game late but have been hooked ever since. We’ll be publishing a full review soon—but if you’ve got the guts and the grip, we recommend diving into the Early Access now. Especially with the free demo available and big updates on the horizon.
White Knuckle is available now in Early Access on Steam for $12.99.
