The timing is the interesting part. An autumn sale that opens on October 1 lands right at the start of Halloween season — and Valve’s announcement links straight to its horror category. If you’ve been building a spooky-season backlog, this is the week to fill it.
It’s also a good moment to revisit games that launched recently. Several of the titles we’ve reviewed in the past few weeks are exactly the kind of mid-priced indies that tend to turn up in sales like this.
