Valve has released the Steam sales and events schedule for 2027, covering every themed fest, Next Fest, and seasonal sale planned through the first half of the year — along with the remaining 2026 calendar. If you plan your purchases around Steam sales (and if you have a wishlist of any meaningful size, you should), this is the reference document you want saved.
The 2027 lineup continues Valve’s pattern of building fests around increasingly specific and creative themes — Desktop Companion Fest, Sheep Fest, Dinos vs. Robots Fest, and Mountaineering Fest are all on the calendar alongside more conventional genre events like Racing Fest, Fighting Fest, and Real-Time Strategy Fest. The goal, as Valve describes it, is to find themes that let all kinds of games get celebrated rather than only the biggest genres.

What’s Worth Watching
Steam Scream V (October 26 – November 2) is the one we’re circling on the calendar — Valve’s Halloween horror fest is consistently one of the best times of year to fill out a horror library, and the fifth iteration lands right on Halloween weekend.
Next Fest appears three times across the schedule (October 2026, February 2027, June 2027) — these are the demo showcases where hundreds of upcoming games drop playable demos simultaneously. If you like finding games before they blow up, Next Fest is where that happens.
And the Steam Winter Sale 2026 (December 17 – January 4) is the longest event on the calendar at nearly three weeks, as usual. Plan your budget accordingly.
