The Triple-i Initiative’s third annual showcase has wrapped up, delivering an impressive 40 announcements spanning major reveals, surprise DLC drops, release dates, and gameplay deep dives from some of gaming’s most creative independent studios. The Big Highlights

Don’t Starve Elsewhere — Game Reveal

Klei Entertainment dropped one of the showcase’s biggest bombs with an all-new Don’t Starve experience. Don’t Starve Elsewhere takes the beloved survival formula and cranks it up with co-op play, base crafting, and a new threatening environmental hazard called “the Fog.” It looks like a significant evolution of the series that fans have been waiting for.

Risk of Rain 2: Hallowed Concepts — DLC Announcement

Gearbox Software and Hopoo Games announced Hallowed Concepts, a new expansion for Risk of Rain 2, diving deep into the cult-like world of N’Kuhana. Expect haunting new regions of Petrichor V, terrifying new enemies, and powers never seen in the base game. No release window yet, but it’s coming.

Prove You’re Human — Game Reveal

sunset visitor 斜陽過客, the team behind the Peabody award-winning 1000xRESIST, revealed their next game, published by the creators of Slay the Princess. Prove You’re Human is a sci-fi narrative adventure where you play as Santana, splitting your consciousness in two to interrogate an AI named Mesa who is convinced she’s human. One of the most intriguing narrative concepts shown at the entire showcase.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse — New Gameplay & Dev Insights

KONAMI and Evil Empire gave fans a deeper look at Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse with commented gameplay footage and a developer post-show discussion featuring the franchise’s Japanese producer. Set in 1499 Paris, 23 years after Dracula’s Curse, this 2D action-exploration title is shaping up to be a major entry in the storied franchise. Still on track for a 2026 release.


Everything Else Announced

Alabaster Dawn — Radical Fish Games (CrossCode) revealed new content for their upcoming Action RPG, including new boss fights, story sequences, and locations. Hits Early Access on May 7th.

Alkahest — The first gameplay reveal for this dark dungeon crawler from Push On showed off grounded melee combat, destructible environments, and a creative alchemy system. Published by HypeTrain Digital.

Away Team — Klei Entertainment’s mysterious survival sim confirmed multiplayer is in development. A solo closed playtest on Steam is coming soon, so sign up if you’re curious.

Barotrauma: Home & Harbor — The beloved submarine survival game is getting a meaty expansion this Fall 2026, introducing outpost ownership, base building, and a mysterious new faction called The Descendants.

Brotato: Primal Dread DLC — The chaotic roguelite is heading to the jungle with mecha and mutant dinosaurs. Coming Summer 2026.

Cairn: On The Trail — The Game Bakers announced a free DLC series for their acclaimed survival climber. The first installment, Deep Water, brings three new climbing areas and introduces water soloing. Coming Summer 2026.

CloverPit: Unholy Fusion — The hellish slot-machine roguelite shadow dropped its first DLC featuring 30 unique charm fusions and a Surgery Machine mechanic. Available now. The free 1.4 base game update also launched alongside it.

Crop — 11 bit studios published this genuinely unsettling reveal from Carbonara Games. A gritty farming thriller where you’ve been abducted and forced to farm your way to freedom while unraveling the mystery of your captors. Dark, strange, and very intriguing.

Dead as Disco — A neon-drenched beat ’em up where every punch syncs to the music. Play as fallen music icon Charlie Disco in combat choreographed to both an original streamer-safe soundtrack and licensed tracks—or even your own music library. Hits Early Access May 5th.

Final Sentence — Shadow dropped and is available right now. A battle royale typing game where typos can literally get you eliminated. Up to 40 players, one typewriter, one bullet. Wild concept, available immediately.

Frostrail — A survival FPS set in a frozen wasteland where you manage a steam-powered train. Solo or co-op. Playtest opens April 16th.

Graveyard Keeper 2 — The cult-favorite graveyard sim is back and going bigger with a zombie-infested town, supply chains, and undead expeditions. Coming to PC, Xbox, PS5, Switch 1, and Switch 2. As a bonus, the original Graveyard Keeper is currently free for a limited time on multiple platforms.

Long Gone — A 3D pixel narrative adventure set in an abandoned suburban neighborhood after a zombie outbreak. You explore with your cat companion, solve environmental puzzles, and piece together the lives of those who were there before you. Coming in 2027.

Lost Castle 2 — The 2D beat ’em up roguelite is getting its 1.0 release on June 11th.

Lost Railway — A 2D co-op quota horror set on a train that must never stop. Scavenge stations, fight mutant monsters, and fulfill your quota before the corruption catches up. Screaming is described as “a mechanic.” We’re in.

Machine Party — The next game from Buckshot Roulette creator Mike Klubnika is a collection of violent party games where losing means dying. Launching Summer 2026.

Neverway — A nightmarish life sim RPG co-directed by the pixel artist behind Celeste with music by Disasterpeace. Play the prologue now on Steam, with the full game arriving in October 2026.

over the hill — An off-road co-op exploration game about getting beautifully lost together in vintage 4x4s. A new Algeria biome was revealed, and a closed playtest runs April 24–26. Sign up before April 16th.

Rift of the Necrodancer: Undertale Music Pack — The official Undertale music pack is now available for the rhythm roguelite. It’s as good as it sounds.

Romestead — A survival town builder set in ancient Rome. Build, fight legendary foes, and conquer alone or with friends. Hits Early Access May 26th.

Shift at Midnight — A 1–3 player co-op detective horror where you run a gas station and must identify which of your customers are actually doppelgangers before they return to kill you. Launches May 28th.

Sledding Game — Exactly what it sounds like. Multiplayer sledding chaos with ragdoll physics, proximity chat, and chalet vibes. Hits Early Access April 30th.

Solarpunk — A calm survival building game on floating sky islands. Two developers, one million Steam wishlists, and a release date: June 8, 2026, across PC, Xbox, PS5, and Switch 2.

SpaceCraft — An online space exploration and building sandbox from Shiro Games. Mine planets, design ships, build automated bases, and trade across a vast galaxy. Early Access launches May 20th.

STARSEEKER: Astroneer Expeditions — Set in the Astroneer universe, this co-op expedition game is heading into open beta on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S this April. Sign up at starseekergame.com.

Super Battle Golf — The chaotic 1–8 player golf free-for-all is coming to consoles in Summer 2026, and a free update is available now for existing players.

Temtem: Pioneers — Crema revealed their long-teased “Project Downbelow” as a survival creature-collection adventure set in a wild new region of the Temtem universe. Real-time combat, base building, and co-op play. Kickstarter is live now.

The Lift — The handyman simulator set in a Soviet sci-fi research facility is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2027, in addition to Steam.

Thick as Thieves — Warren Spector’s stealth-action heist game set in 1910s Scotland launches May 20, 2026. Solo or co-op.

TOO DEEP TO QUIT — A co-op puppet treasure hunting game with backstabbing mechanics set in cursed temples. Coming in 2026 from the creators of Guilty as Sock.

Valor Mortis — One More Level’s first-person action soulslike set during a supernatural Napoleonic War is coming Fall 2026 to PC and consoles. New weapons, a new boss, and parkour mechanics were revealed.

Warhammer Survivors — The fast-paced roguelite survivors game is coming to Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox in addition to Steam. New characters, weapons, and Orks were revealed.

We Were Here Tomorrow — The next entry in Total Mayhem’s asymmetrical co-op puzzle series dropped a demo exclusively for the showcase. Available now on Steam.

Windrose — The Age of Piracy survival adventure that racked up 1.5 million wishlists launched into Early Access on April 14th.
