TheBigBois takes data protection seriously. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit thebigbois.com, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. We have written it to be readable rather than exhaustive — if anything is unclear, contact us at the address below.

2. Definitions
This policy uses terms defined in the GDPR. In short:
- Personal data — any information relating to an identified or identifiable person.
- Data subject — the person whose data is processed. If you are reading this, that’s you.
- Processing — anything done with personal data: collecting, storing, using, sharing, deleting.
- Controller — the party that decides why and how data is processed. That’s us.
- Processor — a party that processes data on our behalf (for example, our hosting provider).
- Consent — a freely given, specific, informed, unambiguous agreement to processing.
3. Server log data
When you load any page on this site, our server automatically records:
- browser type and version
- operating system
- referring website
- pages visited and time of access
- IP address
- internet service provider
This data is used to deliver the site correctly, maintain security, diagnose faults, and — in the event of an attack on our systems — assist law enforcement. It is analysed only in aggregate and is not used to identify you. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in operating a secure website).
4. Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. This site uses them for analytics, advertising, and affiliate tracking, as described below.
You can refuse or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Doing so may mean parts of the site do not work as intended. Where cookies are not strictly necessary, we ask for your consent before setting them, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
5. Analytics — Jetpack
We use Jetpack, a WordPress plugin operated by Aut O’Mattic A8C Ireland Ltd., Business Centre, No.1 Lower Mayor Street, IFSC, Dublin 1, Ireland, to understand how many people visit the site and which articles they read.
Jetpack sets cookies and collects data including your IP address, pages visited, and time of visit. This is used to produce visitor statistics. We do not use it to identify individual readers.

6. Search engine optimisation — Rank Math
We use Rank Math SEO to manage metadata, sitemaps, and structured data. Rank Math operates within our own WordPress installation and does not set tracking cookies on visitors or transmit visitor data to third parties in normal operation.
7. Advertising — Google AdSense
We use or intend to use Google AdSense to display advertising. AdSense is operated by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland.
Third parties, including Google, may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons, pixels, or your IP address, to collect information as a result of ad serving on this website. This information is used to serve and measure advertising, including advertising based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
Google may transfer this data to servers in the United States and may share it with third parties where required by law or where those parties process it on Google’s behalf.

8. Affiliate links and partner codes
TheBigBois has commercial partnerships with the following companies. Articles on this site may contain affiliate links or discount codes, and we earn a commission when a reader makes a purchase through them. This costs you nothing extra.
GamerSupps — discount code TBB, link https://gamersupps.gg/tbb. Clicking this link sets a cookie identifying TheBigBois as the referring partner so that commission can be attributed. The cookie stores a partner identifier, not your personal details. Affiliate tracking is operated by Goaffpro on GamerSupps’ behalf.
Packs.com — discount code PACKSTBB, link https://packs.com/r/packstbb. Same mechanism.
Our editorial coverage is not conditional on these partnerships, and partners do not review articles before publication.

9. Embedded content
Articles may embed content from third-party platforms — most commonly YouTube videos (Google Ireland Limited), and posts from X/Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook.
When you load a page containing embedded content, your browser contacts that platform’s servers directly, and the platform receives your IP address and the page you are viewing. If you are logged into that platform, it may associate the visit with your account. This happens whether or not you interact with the embed.

To prevent this, log out of those platforms before browsing, or block third-party content in your browser.
10. Contact
If you email us at [email protected] or use a contact form, we store your message and contact details for the purpose of responding and keeping a record of the correspondence. We do not pass this to third parties. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) or 6(1)(f) GDPR.
11. Comments
Comments are currently disabled on this site. If they are enabled in future, this policy will be updated to describe what is stored.
12. Newsletter
We do not currently operate a newsletter and do not collect email addresses for marketing purposes.
13. Hosting
This site is hosted on infrastructure operated by our hosting provider, which processes server log data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. We use LiteSpeed Cache to improve page load performance; it stores cached copies of pages and does not track individual visitors.
14. Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, or as long as required by law. Server logs are retained for a limited period and then deleted. Contact correspondence is kept as long as needed to handle the matter and meet any legal retention obligations.
15. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Confirmation — ask whether we process data about you
- Access — obtain a copy of that data and information about how it is used
- Rectification — have inaccurate data corrected
- Erasure — have your data deleted, where no legal obligation requires us to keep it
- Restriction — have processing limited in certain circumstances
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interest, and to direct marketing at any time
- Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. For our registered address, that is the Landesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz Baden-Württemberg.
16. Automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects concerning you. Note that advertising served by Google AdSense may involve automated ad personalisation; you can opt out via the Google link in section 7.
17. Children
This site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
18. Changes
We may update this policy as the site changes. The current version always applies.
