The Fear Fear West update (v0.3.0.0) isn’t just a seasonal reskin. Alongside the Halloween Event, it adds the Joker’s Choice system, a new Disturbance difficulty-scaling system, opt-in Modifiers, a new Jetpack weapon, a Woodlands questline that unlocks the new Redwood map, overhauled bosses, and even a horse racing minigame in the lobby.
How the Halloween Event Works
Find a crow statue and shoot the fleeing crow.
Take down the new Halloween boss.
Find a haunted cemetery and destroy the flying skulls.
Haul your loot to the cauldron behind the lobby train to earn Haunted Candles.
Contracts on the mission select screen show whether they include Halloween objectives, and each one features up to two of the three event resources. Spend your Haunted Candles on the new Halloween cosmetics:

New Systems & Content
Each time you find a Joker, choose between two of the same rarity. No more useless pulls for your build.
Completing objectives raises your Disturbance Level, gradually buffing enemies, up to a lightning-filled Ragestorm at 100%.
Opt-in modifiers for extra XP and Uranium, from Ghost Nukers and Blackout to “Gary is here.”
A new secondary weapon: fly anywhere, then crash down on your enemies.
Fixes & Quality of Life
The update also fixes 50+ bugs, including multiple crashes and disconnections and a frequent GPU crash on RTX 4060 cards. To tackle disconnects, matchmaking has moved from Steam sessions to Epic Online Services, which should be invisible to players, and clients now keep their Jokers and spent Uranium if they disconnect. Gamepad navigation and input remapping have been improved, enemy CPU load has been reduced for better performance, and the lobby gramophone has been swapped for a jukebox. Evil Raptor has also released the Far Far West Official Soundtrack.
