CI Games unveils a blood-soaked first look at the sequel featuring music by Ghost, while simultaneously dropping the final major update for the 2023 original.
At The Game Awards 2025, CI Games pulled back the curtain on Lords of the Fallen II, delivering a bone-breaking first look at the sequel’s gameplay. Set to a cover of “It’s a Sin” by the rock band Ghost, the trailer showcased a darker, faster, and significantly bloodier experience built on Unreal Engine 5.
The sequel is scheduled to launch in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
Bolder, Braver, Bloodier
Set 1,000 years after the fall of the dark god Adyr, Lords of the Fallen II returns players to the dual-realm mechanic that defined its predecessor. However, the combat has evolved. CI Games describes the new system as “fast and fluid,” introducing a new dismemberment feature that allows players to rend enemies limb from limb.
The trailer highlighted three massive bosses that players will face in solo or shared-progression co-op:
- Heartroot Warden: A metal-encased juggernaut wielding a chain-wrapped greatsword.
- Koydreth: A winged horror striking from a rune-etched mirror.
- Lingao the Souring Storm: A colossal dragon harnessing wind and lightning.
“Designed and developed in accordance with our players-first philosophy, we look forward to seeing the community’s reaction to the faster and more brutal combat,” said Game Director James Lowe.

Lords of the Fallen (2023) Final Update
To tide fans over until 2026, CI Games has released Version 2.5 for the 2023 Lords of the Fallen, marking the game’s final major update.
This update introduces Veteran Mode, a new difficulty setting that remixes enemy behavior, speeds up boss transitions, and alters attack patterns. Players who conquer this mode will earn the “Veteran of the Veil” breastplate. Additionally, the update includes a “Bosses Reborn” overhaul, refining the AI and movesets of major enemies like Pieta and the Congregator of Flesh across all difficulty modes.
To celebrate the announcement, the 2023 game is currently 50% off ($14.99) on Steam, Epic Games Store, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
