Microids and OSome Studio have announced Garfield – Escape from Monday — a brand-new 3D platforming adventure launching September 24, 2026 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game was revealed on National Garfield Day, and the premise is as accurate to the source material as anything could be: Garfield ate spinach lasagna, fell asleep, and is now trapped in a nightmare full of vegetables, sugar-free candy, and other unimaginable horrors. Monday is the villain. That’s correct. That’s canon.
OSome Studio — known for competent action-platformer work — is developing the game, which features three costume-based abilities for Garfield to master, 3 worlds and over 40 levels, and appearances from the full Garfield cast including Jon, Odie, Arlene, Pookie, and crucially the game’s archenemies: Nermal and Squeak. The tone is exactly right: colorful, chaotic, lasagna-obsessed, and deeply hostile to anything healthy.
The Three Costumes
🦃
Turkey Costume
Go airborne. Garfield achieves flight dressed as a turkey, which is exactly as dignified as it sounds.
🏄
Surfer Costume
Slide on water. Garfield becomes a surfer, which somehow makes more sense than it should.
🤠
Cowboy Costume
Swing with the lasso. Garfield wears a cowboy hat and uses a lasso for traversal. Western nightmare confirmed.
