Knuckle Creek lets you smack your way through a solo campaign of bite-sized stages, or team up with up to 8 friends in couch play or online battles as you compete to become conqueror of the countryside. Taunt your opponents with insults, then clobber them with whatever’s handy, from a well-placed fist or foot to an anvil dropped on someone’s head or a thrown pig.
Brawl With Up to Eight
Last Player Standing and Team Battle modes. Jump in with quick start, or customise everything.
Pick starting health, weapons, maps and time of day, turn on fatal falls, ramp up the joker cards and more.
Eliminated players can still drop items onto the field and lay traps from the sidelines.
Someone running late? Fill their spot with a bot, or team up to take on an all-bot squad.
Up to eight players can play on one machine, or you can take it to private online matches with Steam friend invites. There’s also an invitation code for sharing your PvP game with friends who aren’t on your Steam friends list. And if you survive long enough to win, watch out: your winner’s trophy can still be stolen on the playable podium.
Solo Challenges
Completing stages and hitting star times unlocks hundreds of clay cosmetics: hats, jackets, shoes, hair and more. Mix and match to create anyone from a badass bumpkin to a gutterpunk bruiser or a funky disco dude, plus robots, pirates and monsters. You can also choose from over a dozen voices, pick the emotes you perform mid-battle, and save your favourite setups.
From the Platypus Reclayed Team
Knuckle Creek comes from Claymatic Games, the studio behind last year’s clay-animated shmup Platypus Reclayed. Surprisingly, Knuckle Creek actually started first, but as the more ambitious game, it’s been in development for longer.
“Control is more complex than Platypus’ one-button gameplay, but still relatively simple for its genre,” said Anthony Flack, Lead Games Designer at Claymatic. “It’s all about positioning, making use of weapons and reacting to emergent chaos, rather than learning complex combos. With a low barrier to entry but high skill ceiling, Knuckle Creek is the perfect ‘afterparty’ game, where anyone can hop in and have a good time.”
Flack also recorded thousands of voice samples to bring the cast to life, and the whole thing is set to a bluegrass and blues inspired soundtrack. If the trailer’s country tune gets stuck in your head, Claymatic has you covered with a sing-along version:
