Steam Cyberpunk Fest begins on August 3, running for a full week through August 10. It’s Valve’s latest themed storefront event, gathering cyberpunk games of every stripe under one banner with discounts across the category.
The official trailer gives a glimpse of the range on offer, and “range” really is the operative word — Valve’s own description of what’s included runs from booze-em-ups to futuristic city building to hunting serial killers in the future, and everything in between.
What Counts as Cyberpunk, Apparently
Part of the fun of Steam’s themed fests is seeing how broadly a genre label gets stretched, and cyberpunk is a particularly elastic one. Based on Valve’s own framing, expect a lineup spanning at least these three flavours — plus a great deal more:
Neon-lit bars and the conversations that happen across them. A surprisingly well-populated subgenre.
Construct the sprawl rather than just live in it — megacity management with a dystopian tint.
Detective work in a world where the tech has changed but people very much haven’t.
It’s a good reminder that cyberpunk on Steam isn’t just one aesthetic bolted onto shooters. The category has quietly become one of the platform’s most stylistically varied, and a week-long sale is a decent excuse to poke at the corners of it.
How to Take Part
No sign-up needed — just head to the Steam Cyberpunk Fest category page from August 3 onward to browse the discounts. The event runs until August 10, so there’s a full week to work through it.
If you’ve had a cyberpunk game languishing on your wishlist, Monday is a reasonable time to check whether it’s finally worth pulling the trigger.
