🕯️ Something Is Taking the People of Gruesome Grove
Once upon a time, there was a town called Gruesome Grove. Its streets were painted by hand, its inhabitants were anything but ordinary, and then the story took a turn for the macabre. Something is abducting the town’s residents, and bringing them home means uncovering secrets some of the town would rather keep buried.
Her only clue is a note pointing somewhere forbidden. Along the way, Nora will run into the town’s revered (and ravenous) moths and the displaced monsters wandering the wreckage of her home. To bring back the Gruesome Grove she grew up in, she’ll have to break every rule standing in her way.
A creepy, cosy fairytale where even the moths are hungry
Allogloom is a point-and-click adventure inspired by the classics, made by solo developer Kate under her label Galactic Ghosty and published by Iceberg Interactive. Every background, character and creature was hand-painted from scratch, in a lush, detailed style inspired by art nouveau illustration. Find and collect items, talk to peculiar people and monsters alike, and explore Gruesome Grove and beyond to uncover forgotten truths.
Eight Chapters, Six Worlds
Spanning eight chapters and six interconnected worlds, Allogloom is a story for curious minds and fans of the wonderfully weird. Beneath its whimsical exterior, it balances cosy, character-driven exploration with an undercurrent of dread, as Nora learns just how much of her town’s history is hidden in plain sight.

🖌️ One Artist, One Gruesome Grove
Galactic Ghosty is the solo label of artist and developer Kate. Inspired by a lifelong love of mysterious games, she spent years teaching herself illustration, game design, writing and animation to bring Gruesome Grove to life, with a handful of collaborators helping along the way. Publisher Iceberg Interactive is also behind Strange Horticulture and Strange Antiquities, so if you enjoyed those, this one should be on your radar.
What Players Are Saying
Allogloom is rated Positive on Steam so far, with no negative reviews at the time of writing. Almost every review praises the hand-painted art, and players also highlight the worldbuilding, the music and the mix of creepy and cosy. One player liked that puzzles can be tackled in different orders, and another estimates it took them around 7–8 hours to finish.
The most common note is that the puzzles lean easy, which several players mention, though others found the difficulty well balanced and one says some puzzles genuinely stumped them. A couple of players wished there was less walking back and forth, and one missed having voice acting.
⚠️ Content Note
According to the developer, Allogloom contains cartoon blood, gore and mild references to alcoholism.
