AMC, PHL, and DreadXP have announced that Creepshow launches globally on PC via Steam on August 13, 2026. The game brings the long-running horror franchise into interactive form as an anthology of original standalone stories.
The pitch is a faithful one: varied gameplay wrapped around a devotion to the franchise’s gleefully gruesome identity, offering longtime fans and newcomers alike a fresh way to experience one of the most iconic names in horror.
An Anthology of Anguish
That structure is the right call, and arguably the only one that makes sense. Creepshow has always been an anthology at heart — the segmented, comic-panel storytelling is inseparable from the brand — and an adaptation that tried to force it into one long narrative would be missing the point entirely.
It also gives the developers room to vary the gameplay between segments, which the announcement explicitly promises. Anthology structure and mechanical variety go hand in hand: if each story is its own thing, each story can play its own way.
Inspired by the visual style and spirit of the Creepshow television series, and the pulp horror comics that inspired it in the first place.
A terrifying anthology of standalone nightmares — new tales rather than retreads of existing episodes.
Equal parts frightening, fun, and devilishly twisted. Accept no substitutes, as the team puts it.
The emphasis on original stories is worth noting. Rather than adapting existing episodes, the game is contributing new entries to the anthology — which is both a bolder choice and a more interesting one for anyone who already knows the series.
Who’s Behind It
DreadXP has built a reputation on horror games with genuine identity, and an anthology format plays directly to that strength. It’s also the publisher’s second notable horror release in August, following the psycho-goth visual novel mystery RUNT on August 6 — a busy month for the label.
