🌶️ On the tone: Studio Daimon’s marketing for this leans hard on innuendo — “thirst,” “salacious,” “satisfy some desires of your own.” For clarity, the Steam page carries no mature content disclosure, and the tags are Anime, Romance and Tactical RPG. This appears to be flirty and suggestive rather than explicit, but the romance is a genuine pillar of the game rather than a side activity.
🍳 Food Devils launches on Steam on November 5, with consoles to follow. Studio Daimon’s tactics-RPG roguelite puts you in charge of the last restaurant in a post-apocalyptic world, where your customers are also your raid party — and there’s a free demo available right now.
⚖️ Your Customers Are Your Raid Party
The loop here is genuinely clever, and it’s a closed circle rather than a set of parallel systems.
You’re the last chef in a post-apocalyptic world. You cook monstrous food to lure in adventurers. You get those adventurers to sign contracts with the Food Devils. Then you send them out on expeditions to hunt monsters and bring back the ingredients — which you cook, to attract more adventurers.
So the restaurant isn’t a hub attached to a dungeon crawler. The restaurant is the progression system. Every upgrade you make to the dining room is a recruitment tool, and every monster you kill is tomorrow’s menu.
Each run fields one Food Devil plus up to four human adventurers, drawn from classes including Warrior, Shielder, Mage and Healer.
Loot. Feast. Romance. Repeat.
That monster over there? Studio Daimon’s own description is the cleanest summary of the whole game: that’s your dinner.
Food Devils arrives on Steam on November 5, with console versions to follow. Developed and self-published by Studio Daimon, it blends the grid-based tactical combat of a Tactics RPG with roguelite run structure, restaurant management, and a romance system.
There are four distinct biomes, each with unique monsters and loot, and every expedition is procedurally generated. Adventurers come with randomised looks and stats, so no two parties are alike — while the Food Devils themselves are handcrafted.
The Romance System Has an Unusual Wrinkle
💘 You Can Romance Them — Or Set Them Up With Each Other
There are five Food Devils, and this is the mechanic worth paying attention to.
You can romance any of them yourself. Or you can pair two Food Devils together.
That’s a properly unusual design choice. Romance systems in games are almost universally about you — every route terminates at the player. Making matchmaking an equally valid option, rather than a consolation prize for characters you didn’t pick, turns the cast into a set of relationships you’re arranging rather than a menu you’re choosing from.
It also has mechanical teeth. Devil Contracts boost skills and mobility, so who’s attached to whom feeds directly into party composition. The relationship layer and the tactics layer aren’t separate.
😈 1 Food Devil
Every run starts with one of the five handcrafted Devils anchoring your party.
🗡️ 4 Adventurers
Up to four humans who wandered into your restaurant. Warrior, Shielder, Mage, Healer.
🌍 4 Biomes
Each with its own monsters and loot. Every expedition procedurally generated.
📜 Devil Contracts
Boost skills and mobility. The link between the romance layer and the combat layer.
What the Store Page Adds
🍽️ Details Not in the Announcement
• There’s a free demo on Steam right now — the most useful thing available, and the release doesn’t mention it
• Five Food Devils specifically, and a party of one Devil plus up to four humans per run
• Named classes: Warrior, Shielder, Mage and Healer
• Grid-based movement, top-down — this is proper Tactics RPG positioning, not a light strategy layer
• The restaurant is furnished with furniture you choose, and appeal drives customer flow
• Steam Achievements and Family Sharing supported
• The store page carries an awards badge, though the specific award isn’t named in text
Between runs you uncover the mysteries of the Food Devils, grow closer to them, and piece together their secrets — so the narrative progression sits in the downtime rather than on the expeditions.
On That Press Release
🔥 The Marketing Is Doing a Lot of Winking
We’ll be straightforward about this, because readers will want to know what they’re buying.
Studio Daimon’s announcement is written almost entirely in innuendo — thirst, lust, salacious, saucy, satisfy some desires of your own. It is, at minimum, committed to the bit.
What’s underneath appears more measured. Steam’s listing carries no mature content disclosure, the tags are Anime, Romance, Tactical RPG and Cooking, and the store description covers the same romance content in far plainer language.
So: expect flirtation, expect the romance to matter mechanically, and don’t expect what the press release’s tone might suggest. If you want certainty before buying, the demo is free and will settle it in twenty minutes.
Platform, Specs and Availability
🖥️ Steam First, Consoles Later
Food Devils launches on PC via Steam on November 5, 2026. Studio Daimon say console versions are coming “soon” but haven’t named platforms or a window. No price has been announced.
It’s single-player, with six languages for interface and subtitles — English, Italian, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Indonesian and Brazilian Portuguese — and full voice audio in English.
The specs are refreshingly modest: Windows 10 64-bit, a dual-core 2.4 GHz processor, 6 GB of RAM and 1 GB of VRAM as a minimum, on an 8 GB install. The recommended tier only asks for 8 GB of RAM and 2 GB of VRAM. Almost anything will run this.

Who’s Making It
😈 Studio Daimon
Developing and self-publishing Food Devils. The studio maintains an active Discord and posts development updates through its own channels rather than a publisher’s — worth following directly if this interests you, since there’s no marketing machine behind it.
🧩 A Genuinely Odd Genre Stack
Tactics RPG, roguelite, restaurant sim and romance is four genres in one box, and the combination is doing real work rather than sitting side by side — the food feeds recruitment, recruitment feeds the party, the party gathers the food, and the romance modifies all of it through Devil Contracts. Whether it holds together across a full campaign is exactly what a demo is for.
