Mistfall Hunter is out now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, having launched on July 29, and a new gameplay trailer offers a closer look at the dark fantasy extraction game in motion.
It drops you into a mist-choked world of corroded horrors, forgotten relics, and rival Gyldhunters — all fighting over the same spoils. Every run is a deadly gamble, and the tension comes from a single, brutal rule: die out there, and you lose everything you were carrying.
Ring the Bell or Lose It All
It’s a clean, well-proven extraction hook, and the bell gives it a diegetic flourish that fits the setting. What sharpens it further is that you’re not just fighting the environment — rival hunting parties are chasing the same Gyldenblod, so the greediest run is also the one most likely to be interrupted by other players.
Solo or Squad, Magic or Steel
You can hunt alone or in a three-player squad, fighting back-to-back to bring down towering monstrosities and outmaneuver rival hunters. Six distinctive classes are available at launch, and you can switch weapons mid-battle to counter whatever the mist throws at you — a nice concession to adaptability in a game where you can’t always predict what’s coming.

Ring the bell to bank your haul, or gamble on going deeper. Death strips everything you’re carrying.
Each season reshapes the world with new classes, forbidden arcana, uncharted zones, and ancient relics.
No Pay-to-Win
That’s a commitment worth noting in a genre where progression monetisation is common, and in a PvPvE extraction game specifically, where any purchasable power advantage would directly undercut the risk-reward tension the whole design rests on. Whether it holds long-term is the thing to watch, but stating it plainly at launch sets a clear expectation.
On the content side, each season is set to reshape the world with fresh classes, forbidden arcana, uncharted zones, and ancient relics — the standard live-service cadence, aimed at keeping the map from settling into a solved state.
Into the Gyldenmist
Between the dead-gods premise, the Gyldenblod economy, and a world being actively eaten by mist, Mistfall Hunter has a stronger sense of place than most extraction games bother with — the lore isn’t just set dressing on a loot loop, it’s the reason you’re out there at all.
