iRacing Studios and NASCAR have announced that NASCAR 26, the next entry in the racing franchise, launches September 18, 2026 on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. A developer diary released alongside the announcement offers a look under the hood at this year’s title, which introduces a host of improvements headlined by a new dynamic track feature that changes how your car handles across a race weekend.
NASCAR 26 builds on NASCAR 25 — the first standalone NASCAR console title produced by iRacing, which launched on PC and consoles last fall. This year’s game features NASCAR star Kyle Larson as its cover driver and once again includes all four premier NASCAR series with real drivers from each.
A Track That Evolves Beneath You
For a sim-focused racing title, this is the most substantive claim in the announcement. Rubber laid down over a weekend genuinely changes grip levels in real stock car racing, and modelling that progression turns each session into a moving target — the setup that worked in practice may not be the one you want on Sunday.
Cross-Play, Career, and Burnouts
Beyond the track tech, NASCAR 26 adds online cross-platform multiplayer — a meaningful quality-of-life win for a racing game, since it pools the player base across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox rather than splitting it three ways. Career Mode has been improved, the driving model has been upgraded, and new tracks are joining the roster.
And then there are burnouts, which iRacing has called out specifically. It’s a small thing on paper and a big thing in practice — celebrating a win by shredding the tires is such a fundamental part of the sport’s iconography that its absence tends to get noticed.
The racing surface evolves across a race weekend, changing how your car handles from practice through to the final laps.
Online multiplayer now spans PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, pooling the player base instead of fragmenting it.
An upgraded handling model underpins the on-track experience, alongside a reworked and improved Career Mode.
Celebrate a win properly with burnouts, and take on new circuits added to this year’s roster.
Standard and Gold Editions
Two editions are coming to all platforms this September:
The base game, launching September 18, 2026 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Includes three days of early access starting September 15, plus additional content. Full details revealed alongside the gameplay trailer.
iRacing has said that pricing, pre-order details, and the full Gold Edition contents would be revealed alongside the first gameplay trailer, which will also announce further features not covered in the developer diary.
Who’s Making It
That Papyrus lineage matters for context — Kaemmer’s studio built the NASCAR Racing series that defined PC stock car sims through the 1990s and 2000s, so the dynamic-track and handling-model focus here comes from a team with deep roots in exactly that kind of simulation.
NASCAR 26 launches September 18, 2026 on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, with Gold Edition early access from September 15.
